The Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan issued KEGOC a certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter operation period of 2020-2021.
This year, KEGOC began repair a campaign to prepare power grid facilities for the coming autumn-winter period in early spring, with the onset of the warm period. First, repairs were carried out on overhead power lines and electrical substations of the company. In total, 95 power transmission lines and 56 units of substation equipment have been repaired, as well as buildings, structures and special vehicles. In addition, an emergency stock of materials, spare parts, structures was replenished, and a sufficient stock of transformer oil and fuel and lubricants was created.
All this is necessary to ensure the reliable operation of the National Power Grid of Kazakhstan in the period of maximum load.
This year the schedules of repair and maintenance were drawn up taking into account the epidemiological situation in the country. KEGOC successfully overcame these difficulties and obtained a report of the company's readiness for the autumn-winter period.

KEGOC is the System Operator of the Unified Power System of Kazakhstan, and it owns and manages the assets of the National Power Grid (NPG). The company operates as the natural monopoly. It owns about 26,4 thousand km of 220-1150 kV electricity transmission lines and 80 electrical substations with 36.0 GVA of installed transformer capacity.
